Brief description

This article describes a method of obtaining image with orthographic top view from a usual perspective image with the rear view of the around view systems in vehicles. This method is close to bilinear interpolation method by its algorithmic part, but differs in that the interpolation is not performed in the perpendicular direction, and special smoothing values are calculated for some of pixels. We also brought the program realization of the algorithm in MATLAB and the results of its work. We also performed experiments showing the accuracy and quality of the algorithm, the results presented in this article. The results showed that the method allows to obtain an image without significant distortions of objects’ form and the distance to them. In addition, we managed to avoid horizontal distortion.
